Advance Speech provides services in-person in the Lower Mainland and online services throughout British Columbia
Communication is foundational to your child’s social, emotional, and academic growth. Whether you’re concerned about speech clarity, language delays, or social communication, early support can make a big difference. We offer evidence-based strategies to help children build confidence and connect more easily with others.
We believe in supporting all forms of communication, including augmentative or alternative communication (AAC), with a focus on connection rather than performance. You’ll also learn how to support your child’s progress at home, using everyday routines and play to promote meaningful development.
Advance speech is RASP-certified for families using AFU funding.
Rebuilding communication after a brain injury takes time, expert support, and a plan tailored to your goals. We understand how critical early support is to recovery.
Whether you’re living with aphasia, dysarthria, or cognitive-communication challenges, speech therapy can help you find new ways to express yourself, improve clarity, and build confidence.
We bring years of experience from inpatient stroke rehabilitation and outpatient recovery settings - now delivered on your schedule. Therapy is personalized, practical, and focused on what matters most to you.
Private therapy can start immediately, even while you're still in hospital. We support clients who are hospitalized, recently discharged or living in the community with in-person or online services.
Areas of support include:
Word-finding and aphasia
Slurred speech / dysarthria
Memory and cognitive-communication
Neurological conditions such as Parkinson's
Your voice is a key part of how you show up in the world. Whether you're navigating a new language, preparing for a job interview, or finding it hard to be clearly understood, our therapy is designed to help you speak with greater clarity and confidence.
We offer support for accent modification, voice clarity, and healthy voice function for people who rely on their voice every day. Sessions focus on practical strategies like vocal hygiene, breath support, projection, and articulation tailored to your goals and speaking environment.
Ideal for professionals, performers, educators, or anyone who depends on their voice daily. Sessions are available in-person or online for flexible access.
Dysphagia can affect safety, nutrition, and quality of life. Whether you're worried about coughing during meals, unclear about diet recommendations, or simply want a second opinion, we provide clear, compassionate guidance tailored to your needs.
We support clients at all stages: those recently assessed in hospital, those managing long-term concerns at home, or caregivers navigating confusing diet plans. Our goal is to help make mealtimes safer, more comfortable, and more enjoyable.
Sessions focus on practical strategies, education, and recommendations you can use right away. We also visit long-term care facilities and collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure meals are optimized for both safety and enjoyment.
Our play-based social groups are designed to support communication, connection, and confidence in a fun, low-pressure environment. Sessions are led by a registered speech-language pathologist and tailored to each child’s needs and strengths.
Through structured play, movement activities, and peer interaction, children develop social skills in a setting that feels more like play than therapy. These groups are especially well-suited for kids who benefit from extra support (and who enjoy a bit of playful chaos).
Groups are 90 minutes long and are held at Little Words Studio in Burnaby, just behind Lougheed Mall, with 2 sessions running every other Saturday.
